Atelier neuer Musik

Martina Brandorff

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have become part of the artistic personality staging, especially for younger contemporary composers. However, the way social networks are used is very different. While Eres Holz occasionally posts concert announcements or recordings of his pieces, Johannes Borowski decided against a Facebook account. Malte Giesen sees himself in conflict as an artist and as a private person and Genoel von Lilienstern compares the situation in Berlin with the one in Los Angeles. Author Martina Brandorff spoke with five Berlin-based musical authors about their social media experiences. Her program discusses what social networks today mean for artistic exchange, self-marketing and even artistic expression.
